1960s Mobil Oil Advertising Tin Friction Toy Tanker Truck • 9", Vintage, Japan

This is a vintage 1960s tin lithographed friction toy that was made in Japan. It is a Mobil Oil gas tanker truck with the flying red horse logo on both sides and on the back. It measures 8.75" long and is in played-with condition. There are a few very minor dings and some fine scratches. It is a friction toy but the friction mechanism which is in the back wheels seems to have a little problem. The friction seems to work a little when you're pushing the wheels in reverse, but when you go forward, it seems to skip gears. I'm sure this can be pulled apart and possibly fixed. Still a very displayable and very neat oil-related toy truck. Possibly something sold through Mobil gas stations in the '60s.
