    Chihuahua Dog Figure Day of the Dead Black Flowers Clay Handmade Mexico Folk Art
    From Ahuehuepan, Guerrero, Mexico,
    this hand painted black clay dog figurine is so delightful.  On our most recent trip to Mexico, we had another lovely visit with Humberto Lazaro Salvador, his wife and his darling daughter.  Humberto was born in this small indigenous village where he learned his craft from his grandfather, Luciano.  All of Humberto's sculptures are unique, handmade and hand painted in the traditional Nahuatl style.
    This cute Day of the Dead Chihuahua dog is hand painted with a matte black background and white skeleton.  His (or her) blue eyes are painted with pretty red Nahuatl flowers and metallic gold outlines.  He has red and yellow petals in his ears with white dots, blue flower petals on his whiskers and purple petals above his nose and cheeks.  His white face is embellished with a big blue Nahuatl flower on his forehead and a
    big beautiful red heart with white accent on his chest.
    The bottom is hand signed by Humberto.
