CIVIL DEFENSE ANTI AIRCRAFT TRUCK BY MARX IN BOX FRICTION COMPLETE WORKS 12 INCHES LONG EXC. #12. Here is a scarce plastic friction toy by Marx from the 40's or 50's, complete with wind screen, machine gun, anti-aircraft gun, both ladders and two wooden bullets unused in what I think is the original paper. The friction works, the gun spring coils back and fires (I did not try with bullets since I didn't want to lose one), the siren is weak at best. Let's just say that part is not working. Toy is in excellent/near mint condition. There are two cracks at the back, nothing missing. There is a slit on the plastic hose reel which looks to have been done by Marx but, I don't know what it's for. I don't know how the ladders are used. I do know that Marx converted the same looking fire truck into these army vehicles just by changing the color and a few other minor details. Still says water tank on top and of course for this type truck there is no water tank and it says fire control on the hood. Plastic except the guns. Original box has some wear and tear. It has all the end flaps which is rare, two are taped at the seam. Hard to find especially complete in the box. Please ask any question that you may have. Please check out my other toys and store.
