    Description

Here is a fine 4/4 Violin labeled Matthias Wenzel Placht.  Probably original and made around 1795 (the son, not the father)
The violin has a very fine set up with:
    Expertly tuned bridge
Perfectly fitted sound post of proper diameter, length, and location
Properly adjusted lengths for string and tailpiece
currently with Peter Infeld strings (tin E string)
Excellent response to bow pressures and speeds.  A clear, rich tone with phenomenal projection.  All registers powerful and responsive to the very ends of the fingerboard.  No wolf tones.  A joy to play.
No open cracks, no sound post or bass bar cracks.  Real scroll graft also with a graft repair to the left side of the head, very well done.
I will include a brand new full-suspension Bobelock case, entry-level carbon-fiber bow, and a new cake of rosin as bonuses.
A fine 18th-century violin at a great price for a player who wants a life partner that will sound with the best of them.
Shipping via United States Postal Service.  I do not ship through UPS or Fedex.
