SLINGERLAND TOM DRUM 12" X 08" WMP 1959 1960 MODEL 1411 NICKEL POST RADIO KING

Up for sale is this super-cool vintage Slingerland Tom Tom Drum.  The size is 12" x 08" with 3-Ply Mahogany / Poplar / Mahogany shell.  Model 1411 according to the catalog.  White Marine Pearl with all original Nickel-plated hardware.  No extra holes.  P-040 stamp is clear, but the Date stamp is not readable.  By the interior hardware, it would have to be mid 1958 to early 1960.
This tom is completely functional and ready to play.
The general condition is very good to excellent, especially given its roughly 60+ year age.  NO extra holes.  This shell is nice and round and accepts modern heads with ease.  The Shell is 3-Ply Mahogany / Poplar / Mahogany with Maple re-rings.  The bearing edges are excellent with no re-ring gaps.  The inside of the shell is very nice.
The White Marine Pearl wrap is original and in generally excellent condition with only mild yellowing.  The only crazing is a small area below the muffler knob.  There are some light scratches, scrapes, and little dings from use back in the day - nothing bad.  The seam is tight and ideal.
THE PARTS:
Everything is clean, but could be further polished to a brighter finish.  The nickel is quite intact - seems like it would take a shine nicely.

Both hoop are the original heavy Nickel Over Brass (NOB) and are VG to EXC and are round.  Some oxidation, but not bad.
The Lugs are original to this drum.  Nickel-plated and in VG to EXC shape with some typical light wear.  Much better than most.
The Mounting Bracket is original, although it is chrome-plated rather than nickel.  I have seen numerous examples of this as they phased out nickel for chrome as they transitioned from Chicago to the Niles factory.  They would have looked about the same when new...
The Muffler is the original Dodd Dual-Pad in very nice shape with the original nickel-plated knob.
The Tension Rods and washers are original.  VG+ condition.  The washers are the cheap-o's that they used for a brief time, but original to this drum.
The top head is a well-used Remo Weatherking Coated Ambassador with plenty of life left.
The bottom head is an older unbranded clear Single-Ply.  Very nice tone actually.
